North Sea
The North Sea is located between Great Britain and Western Europe. It is part of the North Atlantic Ocean and has a surface area of around 575,000 km2. It is bordered by the English Channel to the south and the Norwegian Sea to the north. The North Sea has long been one of the most important and busy shipping lanes of the world and a major source of fish for the neighbouring European countries. It is furthermore a popular destination for tourism as well as a rich source of energy resources, like fossil fuels and wind energy.
