Caribbean Sea
The Caribbean Sea is the second largest region of the Atlantic Ocean. It has an area of about 2.75 million km2. The sea is mostly enclosed by land, and lies in the North Atlantic, in-between the Antilles, Mexico & Central America and the northern coast of South America. The Caribbean Sea is home to the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second largest barrier reef in the world that spans over 1,000 km. The sea boasts a tropical climate, with beautiful beaches and many species of fauna and flora. The sea is also in important source of income for the surrounding nations, due to the fishing, oil and tourist industries.
