Hudson Bay
Hudson Bay is a large inland sea located in north-eastern Canada. It is named after Henry Hudson, the English explorer who discovered it in 1610. It has an area of around 1.23 million km2. It is connected to the North Atlantic Ocean through the Hudson Strait. The waters of Hudson Bay have a lower average salinity level than that of normal ocean water, due to the low rate of evaporation, as the bay is covered in ice for most of the year. The prevalence of ice also makes it so that Hudson Bay is only navigable from July to November.
