The Bothnian Sea is the southern part of the Gulf of Bothnia and is as such located in-between Sweden and Finland. To its north lies the Bothnian Bay, with which it forms the Gulf of Bothnia. To its south lies the Sea of Åland and the Archipelago Sea. The Bothnian Sea has a surface area of around 66,000 km2. The Bothnian Sea is home to the Finnish Bothnian Sea National Park. 98% of the National Park consists of water, and is a prime location to go birdwatching, hiking, swimming, snorkelling or scuba diving.
